Informal name for a person or entity who purchases property for another person or entity. The straw man buys the property from the seller and then immediately resells the property to real buyer. The straw man tactic is often used to keep the real buyer's identity private, although it can also be used to arrange a two-part sale in a no down payment program. For more information, see the "Creative Investment Guide: No Down Payment Programs" article in the "Real Estate Investing" section.
