I have to tell you when I saw this title – To sell that house, pretend you are on first date in our local newspaper, I had to read it and see what they were going to say. They spoke with a broker, Liz Richards of Leonard Leonard and Associates. She stated that “Much like going out on a first date, the first encounter people have with your home can make or break their desire to see it again.” I do have to agree with that, that first appearance says a lot. I remember when we were preparing to sell our first home, we did not put the house on the market until after it was empty and had been cleaned. I thought to myself the house looked as if we had just closed, I would move in there again. My husband had photographed numerous houses for realtors and knew what looked good and what did not. That was one reason we did not put the house on the market before we moved out, so people would not be going through a house that seemed busy and full of things.
