What do you do with the person that walks in your office and they have no credit; but they want to purchase a house? What do you recommend they do? This has to be a scenario that happens more often than not. There are college students, young adults, even young married couples that potentially want to purchase a home and have not had to establish credit up to this point. I had one gentleman ask me about establishing credit and how to do it. His overall goal was to purchase a house in about two years. I talked with him about getting a credit card with a reasonable credit limit. Then I continued explaining to him how to charge an item and pay it off or paying it in two payments. Of course his next question was did he have to do this repeatedly or could he stop? What do you think? How long should it take to establish good credit?
