I have read so many things on mortgage fraud and foreclosures that I find it difficult to believe that the housing market is bouncing back. Every couple of days in the neighborhood it seems as if there is another house on the market for sale. Yet, I read on Yahoo News today that Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan was quoted last Friday as saying “the worst may well be over.” That is his opinion but I do not know how many people share that opinion. He believes that because there has been a jump in mortgage applications. That is good that there is an increase in mortgage applications but are the people getting into a housing situation they can afford?
