50-Year Mortgages Struggle For Traction

I was doing some research as to what is happening in the mortgage industry. I saw the above title and could not pass up talking about this. This does not really surprise me because a 50 year mortgage to me could out live the consumer. Don’t you think? Does the title 600 monthly payments make you want to run right out and get a loan. Or does it make you want to offer this to the next customer that walks in the door? When I hear the number 600 it makes me think I will never own this house. What is the benefit of getting into this kind of loan? These loans have not caught on in a huge way according to an article in the Chicago Tribune. I would imagine even though they have not caught on in a huge way there are still lenders that are offering these types of loans.
