
Being in the mortgage industry can prove to be challenging at different times based on the need for leads. Leads drive the business and keep a loan officer employed because without leads there would not be a need for a loan officer. So the following are four ways for a loan officer to get leads:
1) First obvious way is to talk with friends. You never know who your friends might know and could potentially know people in their neighborhood that are looking for a mortgage lender.
2) Second, talk with your family. I understand there are times when we should keep the family out of financial situations. I am not saying discuss your finances with your family, but talk to them about what you are doing and see if they can give you referrals.
3) I like this third way to get leads. Organize a seminar in your local area and ask that people participate. Establish a raffle for this seminar. Once you have completed these tasks, you prepare yourself to schmooze and meet and great.
