There has been various stories in the media where different organizations have taken advantage of African Americans and Hispanics when it comes to their lending policies. I believe part of that is because of a lack of understanding the information that is placed in front of them. Therefore, they sign out of desperation and misunderstanding. When I saw this story, I instantly thought this is a great idea. Everyone deserves the opportunity to have the "American Dream." Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are converting mortgage documents into Spanish. Do you think this will alleviate some problems of misunderstanding what is placed in front of them? I do believe it will. There is so much material to review in the home buying process, this could only reduce some of the stress related to purchasing a home. Believe it or not, regardless of race, the mortgage process is a huge first step.
