Based on what is happening in the mortgage industry, there are some unlikely partners or joint ventures in my opinion that seem to be forming. I read today in Multi-Housing News where Duke Energy and Morgan Stanley Real Estate form a $2.1 billion joint venture. After further research, I discovered Duke has a real estate subsidiary called Crescent Resources. They are a land management and real estate development company that have land in nine states. Now this makes more sense to venture with Morgan Stanley. It will be interesting to watch the different properties that will be developed and in what communities. Seems to me they could do residential and commercial building from this stand point.
