Times are tough and life happens. What happens when the Mayor is overdue on his mortgage? I read this article over the weekend where the Mayor of Desert Hot Springs paid up on an overdue mortgage in the 11th hour. The amount was $25,000 and I have to admit, that seems to me like that is over a period of time. Later in the article it stated that the deed holder had sued the Mayor in small claims for a $6,000 loan. As usual like a lot of cases it settled in the courtroom hallway. This not the end of the story, the deed holder is planning on suing the mayor for about $9,000 in bounced checks that were given to him by the Mayor’s wife. Now hold on – if this is going on with the Mayor’s personal finances, how is the town’s money being managed????? Would you have cause for concern?
