I am sure there are many people that lost homes to Hurricane Katrina and initially did not know where to start. If you knew of a person that lost their home and you are in the mortgage industry, what would you suggest to them as they seek new housing? Would you recommend staying in a hotel for a short period of time; living in an apartment for six months or would you suggest they seek to purchase a house? My initial thought is to educate them on beginning anew and establishing a budget regardless of where they receive money from. This would allow them to make a wise decision when an opportunity to purchase a house comes along.
