Mortgage brokers, mortgage agents, and mortgage lending

If you remember when the victims of the hurricanes were on television, we all saw damaged and destroyed homes. People were missing, yet some of them had to continue to pay on their homes that they could not live in. A lot of people were out of jobs and had to pay on their homes. Now in El Paso, Texas homeowners are being advised to pay on damaged homes what they cannot live in. If you are a mortgage broker or mortgage lender and your client is in this situation, what can you do to help them? Or is it once you the loan has been funded you move on to the next person? What could you do to help them while they are in this situation? I would recommend contacting the consumer the best way you know how and offering them some resources and support that they might not have otherwise received. What would you do?
