Paperless Office Remains a Dream

A paperless office is something that many people dream about. I agree with the reader in the mortgage industry as well as other industries, this will only be a dream. There are many legal ramifications that present themselves if you cannot prove on paper what transpired, that you must keep a paper trail. Yes computers are time savers in essence, however, when the computers go down we must resort to paper. When you are in an industry where the documents are in duplicate or even triplicate, you cannot get that same consistency with a computer.  In my opinion, I prefer the comfort of knowing that I have covered all the avenues with documentation rather than leaving it to chance that the computer recorded all the information. What do you do if one day you have input several applications and you computer gets a virus????
