Mortgage fraud is happening all over the world. It does not matter what state you are in believe me it is happening. Law enforcement people that are in the position of handling mortgage fraud and holding people accountable are being taxed more and more trying to do their job. Sometimes the money and time is not available for them to try and begin doing the research regarding the different mortgage fraud cases. The risk is relatively low but it is still hurting people. There can be bogus information submitted, inflated appraisals and even credit scores manipulated. Eventually this does hurt the home buyer.
