I had not ever heard of this term before. When I hear the word “jumbo” that means big to me. Bigger than what you would expect I would say. If you need to borrow more than $417,000 for your home, then you need a jumbo mortgage lender. Jumbo loans offer attractive features, including fast closings, no PMI and no lender fees. All of this is fascinating to me especially since there are lenders that focus on jumbo mortgages. There is more risk for the mortgage lender; the higher monthly payment amount. It is always important to do your homework regardless the type of loan. You can never be too careful.
