Inflated Incomes of Applicants

When I first began writing this blog, I talked about being aware of someone wanting to inflate the incomes of applicants. This does hurt the borrower in the long run because they are not actually able to afford their homes. When I began reading this article where this state closed down two mortgage firms in Lawrence I was surprised. Not surprised that they caught the people but that consumers do not go back and check the paperwork and verify all the numbers. I remember reviewing all the documents at least four or five times and bringing discrepancies to their attention. Do you believe people are so eager to have a home, that they do not review the documents before closing?
