Mortgage brokers, mortgage agents, and mortgage lending

Today marks the one year anniversary that Hurricane Katrina tore through the gulf coast. Homes were destroyed, business were lost, people died and everyone watched the coverage on the news. Yet, here it is one year later and homes remained to be lost to Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana . There has been rebuilding taking place in Mississippi and even in Texas . Why not Louisiana ? People had to continue to pay a mortgage on a home that no longer existed. Or they had a home in poor condition and no longer had a job. It saddens me because I know that there are people that remain in dire straits and they are not getting the needed assistance from the government.
