At ease. There is mortgage-lender boot camp. Basic training. Being ex-military when I think of basic training, my mind goes to discipline, instruction and a time of learning the rules. I imagine the same could be said for the mortgage industry. The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs has approved Denver-based Mortgage Training Institute, a training organization specializing in mortgage industry education to conduct continuing professional education for mortgage originators. If I was seeking a mortgage originator, I would want to know they have had training. The Mortgage Brokers Act requires originators be registered and licensed with Consumer Affairs before originating residential mortgages. Experience and education are also key factors when applying for a license.
