As I was researching the top lenders, I had already found out that Countrywide was on the list. The list is as follows:
Bank of America
Countrywide Financial Corporation
Golden West Financial Corporation
National City Corporation
Sun Trust Banks, Inc.
Interestingly enough number 6 and 7 on the list are Washington Mutual and Wells Fargo & Company. The other day Washington Mutual agreed to sell $140 billion worth of its mortgage services to Wells Fargo.
