People are lured into signing papers everyday thinking they are going to receive a reverse mortgage. People often targeted are those with medical bills, cannot make their payment when the adjustable rate mortgage kicks in and senior citizens. I remember this lady from our Church said that this man had come to her house and was talking with her about her home. Instead of contacting the Better Business Bureau or doing some research on her own to find out if he was trustworthy, she went ahead and signed the papers. Last I remember, she was going to be thrown out of her home. This was sad to see because there were several members of the church that worked in the legal community that would have been able to offer her some suggestions. I imagine that she was embarrassed about the situation happening and did not want to tell anyone. Make sure you do your homework before signing any papers that relate to your home ownership.
