What is happening with the housing market? I read an article in one our local papers and was surprised by what I read. The article was titled “HUD settles kickback case.” Essentially what happened was the builders and lenders were getting a kickback for referring business to a preferred title company. Evidently this is illegal under the real estate settlement procedures act. Surely you would think that someone in the business would know what is allowed and what is not allowed. From my understanding, there could be several agreements reached in the next few months because there were several other builders that participated in the arrangement. As I stated in the beginning, what is happening in the housing industry?
