We keep hearing stories on our news how new home construction and building permits have declined. I remember hearing that MDC Holdings Inc, reported a second quarter profit slump 25 percent. I mainly remembered them because their corporate office is here in Colorado . What is the land costing them prior to their building on it? I remember looking at a home that came with two and a half acres of land and the builder was asking for an astronomical amount of money up front. Fortunate for us, we had done our research and knew this guy did not know initially that we had done our homework. That was a deal breaker for us. If the builder is facing trouble and losing money on the land, how much more are they going to pass on to the buyer.
