When I read the story about people still getting more bathrooms and bigger kitchens, it honestly amazed me. With everything that is going on with the housing market, how can anyone think of getting more and more space. We have all repeatedly seen on the news the different companies that are laying off hundreds, even thousands of people at a time. If you have not prepared for that, which some have not one recourse is down sizing even your house. When you move to a smaller house or even an apartment, you can reduce different monthly bills. I imagine when people get a bigger house, their first thought is to furnish the entire house at one time and not room by room. Refrain from taking on unnecessary expenses and furnish the house one room at a time. Pay for your furnishings in cash and not by credit card. What is the point of having a big house, if you are house poor!
